In-situ Testing of Amorphous/Microcrystalline Materials Over 5 nm
Since Raman scattering efficiency is proportional to 1/λ4, the Raman signal from shorter wavelength lasers is stronger. The penetration depth of the laser into silicon decreases as the laser wavelength shortens. Therefore, a 325 nm laser beam can penetrate approximately 10 nm of silicon samples, while a 532 nm laser can penetrate up to 700 nm samples.
For microcrystalline silicon samples that are 10 nm or thinner, using a 325 nm laser allows for in-situ testing without interference.
Precise Control of Laser Power to Protect Test Samples
Due to the higher energy of UV photons, samples are more susceptible to burning or degradation under UV laser irradiation.
The Millennial Galaxy Solar features a laser power feedback control device that tightly regulates the laser power reaching the sample. When using a high-brightness 325 nm laser, power levels below 1 mW can adequately protect the sample from damage.
Friendly for Both Regular Users and Experts
The optical path is equipped with a beam sampling camera and focused observation software. During normal testing, the focusing condition of the 325 nm laser can be directly observed through the UV camera without switching cameras to view the sample. By observing the light spot with the UV camera, the focus value can be adjusted in the observation software until it reaches the minimum, allowing for testing and obtaining spectra with a good signal-to-noise ratio.
